COACHING AT TYSA:
Coaching at TYSA is one of the most rewarding experiences a parent can have. There isn’t a better way to spend some quality time with your child and their friends while introducing the game of soccer to younger generation!

Here at TYSA, we have an excellent staff of professional and recreational coaches. All coaches receive ample opportunities to increase their level of knowledge of the game of soccer as well as coaching principles. If you are considering coaching, but are unsure that you have the necessary skills, please register to coach! Our staff works very diligently to provide practice design, soccer drills and equipment necessary to conduct engaging and beneficial practices while making the games exciting!

If you are a person that enjoys soccer and are looking for a chance to network within the community, consider coaching with TYSA. We are a group of community-centered parents focused on improving our children’s understanding and skills of the game of soccer. Our association works very hard to facilitate a family atmosphere and foster friendly competition while maintaining good sportsmanship.

So, what is the commitment? Practices for our U14-U19 divisions occur twice per week and once per week for our U8 thru U12 divisions (with an option for a second practice as field space permits). These practices take place at Henderson Park. The days for the practices are directed by your schedule. Most games are scheduled on Saturdays with the possibility of an occasional Sunday if make-ups are necessary. The U6 teams practice on Saturdays, 30 minutes prior to each game. The Fall Season runs from late-August thru early-November. Spring is late-February thru early May.

Maybe you have circumstances that limit your ability to commit to being a full-time coach.

So, what is the commitment for assistant coaches? Every great coach has an assistant coach and team of parents there to back them up. As the Assistant, your primary responsibility is to help the coach run practices, keeping the players focused, and keeping the players engaged on game day! Occasionally, you may be called to run a practice when the coach is unavailable.

TYSA has a limited number of employees and we rely heavily on the support of our members. If you have opted in to volunteer, we thank you! You will be contacted when we have an event that requires your assistance.

All U6 thru U19 Rec and Jr Academy player must wear a TYSA uniform for games. We introduced a new Rec/Jr Academy kit in the Fall of 2023. The logo has changed slightly and the Home jersey is a new color of green. If you already have a TYSA uniform you will definitely need the new green jersey and to be completely matching, it is advised that you order the black Away jersey as well. If you do not already have a TYSA uniform, you will order all items that are marked as required. There will also be fan gear and accessories available for your convenience. The black Away jersey will double as the practice jersey for the Jr Academy teams.

Other required equipment your player will need includes cleats, shin guards (to be worn inside the sock), a water bottle and a proper sized ball:
U6 – U8 – size 3
U10 – U12 – size 4
U14 & up – size 5

It is recommended that you write your child’s name on the ball.

ORDERING YOUR TYSA REC UNIFORM

U6 thru U12: You will be receiving a uniform order invitation from Lloyd’s Soccer. To make a purchase, follow the instructions in the email from Lloyd’s. You will be prompted to select a uniform number. You may choose any jersey number as we are not concerned about duplication at this age level. We do not personalize the jerseys with player names.

U14 thru U19: You will be receiving a uniform order invitation from Lloyd’s Soccer as soon as the teams are finalized. To make a purchase, follow the instructions in the email from Lloyd’s. All U14 thru U19 players must have a unique number, therefore, we will be assigning numbers to those who do not yet have one. We do not personalize the jerseys with player names.

– Standard lead-time for uniforms is about 2 weeks.

Please note, uniforms are not returnable. There is a sizing chart available on the Lloyd’s Soccer website for your convenience.

PRACTICES:
Practices are held weeknights at Henderson Park in Tucker. Parents will be notified of their child’s practice day(s)/time the week before practices begin. U8 thru U12 practices run one hour and typically begin at 5:30 or 6:30. U14 thru U19 may begin as late at 7:00 or 7:30 and last an hour and a half.

GAME SCHEDULES:
Schedules will be posted within your TYSA Playmetrics Account. Please download the Playmetrics app. Please always bring both jerseys just in case! We typically post the first two weeks initially, with the remainder of the schedule within the next week.

U6 thru U12 teams have games on Saturdays at Henderson Park.
U14 thru U19 games are scheduled on Saturdays and Sundays at Henderson Park, Granite Soccer Complex and neighboring clubs.

FIELD STATUS / RAIN OUT NOTIFICATIONS
Field status will be posted to the TYSA website by 4:00 pm each weekday and by 7:30 am each Saturday. We will continue to monitor the conditions and, in the case of late-arriving storms, will update the site as necessary.

FURRY FRIENDS AT THE PARK
While we may love having friendly animals around, we do have to ask that you refrain from bringing your pets to practices and games. Animals are not allowed inside the field areas. If your dog is a super fan who just can’t stand to miss a game, they can cheer from outside the fence!
